God is watching over Me

*By Brianne Mundy*

My testimony happened in late September of 2001. There are several blessings that happened along with this. I bought a horse, named Shiloh, about a year earlier, and she had just gotten old enough that we could start getting her used to having a saddle on her, and eventually a rider too. I had just had my 14th birthday party that weekend, and Sunday afternoon, my dad, my little brother Jacob, and I decided we were going to try and ride Shiloh. My grandpa Ron was in the hospital, and so my mom was up to visit him. Anyways, I got up on Shiloh, and my dad was leading her around. Our other horse came up behind her, and spooked her. She started running off, and the lead rope flew out of my dad's hands. I started to take my foot out of the stirrup so that I could jump off. She started to turn, and since she wasn't used to the extra weight, fell. Blessing number one, is that I fell away from her. After this all happened, and we looked at the saddle later, the stirrup had been broken off of the saddle on the side that she had landed on. If I wouldn't have taken my foot out, my leg would have been crushed.

My brother Jacob came, and helped me back to the truck. Blessing number two is that when my dad went to go take the saddle off of Shiloh, she just stood perfectly still, and didn't move at all. My dad rushed back to the truck, and helped me get inside. I just kept on repeating, "Is this a dream? Is this for real?" My mom had just got home from seeing my grandpa at the hospital, and Jake came running inside saying, "Mom! Call Grandpa John! Bree fell off of the horse, and he needs to come over and administer to her!" Mom didn't believe him at first, but when she opened up the door, she could hear me crying, and saying, "Is this a dream?" They sat me down on the couch, and only one of my pupils was dialating. I couldn't remember anything. I didn't remember what day it was, what we had done earlier that day, and we still had some things from my birthday party out, and I looked at them, and said, "I don't even know what those (presents) are for!" I was very frustrated that I couldn't remember anything!

Grandpa John wasn't home, and so my dad administered to me. Blessing number three, after he took his hands off of my head, I started to remember some things. We left for the hospital. By the time we got there, I had remembered everything, except I remembered going down to ride Shiloh, and I didn't, and still don't, remember falling off of her or anything. The next thing that I remembered was sitting on the couch back home after dad had administered to me.

My parents thought that they might as well take me back home. I had been complaining about my elbow and my hip hurting some earlier, and so when we got to the hospital, my dad looked at my elbow, and turned to my mom and said, "I think that we need to go on inside to the ER." We went in, and I looked at my elbow in a mirror, and it looked like I had a baseball on my elbow! They took x-rays, and did a cat-scan. It turned out that I did have a slight concussion, and my elbow was just really bruised. I just thank God that he was watching over me that day, and that no major thing was wrong with me!
