It is amazing
to me
how the Lord can try to tell me something and I just don't
listen.
Three of our children were at Mammouth
camp. Brian had just gotten back home from a business trip. It was a
normal night. Jacob went to bed and Brian and I went to
bed later on. Jacob came in our room in the middle of
night. He heard something and was afraid. He said it
sounded like a siren. I didn't listen too hard and told him to
climb in bed with us and not worry. This is the first time that
night the Lord tried get me up.
A little later on I woke up and we were in the
middle of quite a thunderstorm. The lightening was none stop
and the wind was really blowing. Any other time I would get up
and go out in the living room, turn on the TV and check the
weather. This night I decided that everything was fine and I went
back to sleep. This is the second time the Lord tried to get my
attention that night.
Around 5:30 in the morning I woke up to our
dog scratching on our back door. We lock him up on the porch at
night. I laid there and thought he'll stop in a minute, and then
I thought Brian will hear him and get up. Neither happened so I
got up to tell Bomber to stop. As I was walking out of our room I
saw a light and thought Jacob must have left a light on when he got
up. I walked out into the hall and realized the light wasn't on
in the hall or the bathroom. As I came out of the hallway I saw
that our hot tub, that sits on our back deck, was blazing. I
yelled at Brian and he came out. I called 911 and Brian started
to put the fire out.
Everything worked out fine. The hot tub
was destroyed but the house was alright except for a little damage
to the roof over the deck. Another five minutes and it would have
been a different story. I can just hear the Lord that
night. He said I'll send Jacob in and Anne will hear the tornado
sirens and get up. He new I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep
while we were under a tornado warning. I didn't
listen to His warning so He tried again. I always get up when
there is a bad storm and check the weather, not this night. Now,
He's probably saying OK I'll use Bomber that will get her up. It
sure did.
I just thank
the
Lord that He didn't give up on me that night.
